History

The Tien-Sheng Palace was founded by a primary school teacher named Zhong Yongliang. Mrs. Zhong held faculty positions as the couple followed their faith. After raising a son and a daughter, Zhong fell ill. He recovered in time for the opening of the palace in 1984. Worshipping a female diety, the place of worship was dedicated to a Lady of Hope. Even to this day, the palace still stands in great honour.

 

No medical explanations followed examinations of Zhong Yongliang's body after his sudden death. 

旗津天聖宮由 前旗津國小老師鐘永良創立鐘永良擔任教職，鐘太太陳姿蓉則為裁縫，兩人原無宗教信仰，但陳姿蓉生育一男一女後，便一病不起，遍尋名醫均無果偶然機緣下遇見屏東小琉球幸山寺廟公告知：「是聖母想找乩身建廟救世，若願替神明服務，便可不藥而癒」。於是在民國七十一年農曆十月二十日於小琉球幸山寺開光天上聖母金身。民國七十三年農曆三月六日前往北港朝天宮領玉旨，賜名天聖宮起初聖母金身安奉於旗津國小宿舍。後因香客眾多、濟世不易，民國七十九年於現址搭建臨時性行宮奉祀。民國九十一年正式動土興建廟宇 ，當時建廟一切順利，惟鐘永良請示聖母時，聖母盼龍位供奉輔佐聖母有功的十三太保，但虎位要供奉何神卻指示「天機不可洩漏」。直到民國九十二年農曆九月，積勞成疾的鐘老師再次病倒，然眼見九月九日的金身開斧之日將臨大家都還不曉得虎位為何方神聖。農曆九月六日早上，原本醫生檢查一切正常的鐘永良突然病危不治。
