History

Shan-Hua Temple mainly worships Shakyamuni Buddha. The front of temple is called “Shan-Hua Church;” Shan-Hua Church was said to come from Tainan De-Hua Church, originally a longhua-styled dining hall. In 1925, Da-Cuo Xu donated land and invited Shang-De Lin, Jing-Biao Lin, Dong Wang, Shu-Tou Lin, Li Jiang, Rui-Dong Chen, and Ping Lin to build the temple. The temple was finished with construction that June, and it was managed by Da-Cuo Xu and Dong-Ren Wang. In 1931, Da-Cuo Xu died, the temple was then taken over by Young-Dao Master.

善化寺主供釋迦牟尼佛，其前身為「善化堂」，據傳善化堂傳自台南德化堂，原為龍華派的齋堂，大正14年(1925)許大厝獻地，並邀林商得、林錦標、王棟、林樹頭、江礪、陳瑞棟、林品等人共同發起建堂，於同年六月竣工，並由許大厝任主持，王棟任管理。昭和6年 (1931) 許大厝去世，乃由水淨法師聘請永道法師前來住持。
