History

During the period of Koxinga, Han Chinese people entered Xin-Feng, Taiwan, most people called that area “Xiang-Yang Zai” or “little Xiang-Yang.”
After the temple was built, it was
popular temple; however, during May 1, 1853, there was a big earthquake, except for the middle palace, other sections of the temple were ruined, until it was reconstructed from 1855 to 1857. During 1862, there was another earthquake, similar to the earthquake in 1853, the majority of the temple except for the middle palace were left in ruins, until it was renewed in 1867. From then, people started to believe in the supernatural power of the god that held his place in the middle palace, Emperor Guan.
